First Indian Australian Female Electric Train Driver in Australia Mandhir Rajput.She was fascinated with trains during her childhood and desired to drive one in her lifetime. In 2005 Manndhir Rajput become the first Indian Australian woman to become an engine driver with the New South Wales Rail Corporation, Australia. Originally from Jalandhar, she immigrated to Australia after getting married to Sukhwinder Singh Rajput.
Exactly after 100 years since Suzanne RD Tata became the first Indian woman to drive a car in 1905. Manndhir Kaur Rajput has registered her name in the history books in September 2005, when she become the First Indian born Australian to drive Electric Train in Rail Corporation New South Wales Australia.
Manndhir Kaur Rajput had never imagined that she would be a train driver before she migrated to Australia as an IT consultant.Ms Rajput was called on by the then Speaker of NSW Parliament H’ble John Aquilina where She was greeted by him with Official Certificate for my achievement.
After going through a rigorous training at Rail Training College Petersham (Sydney) Australia, she received her graduation certificate from Minister of Transport and Deputy Premier Mr. John Watkins and CEO of Railcorp Mr. Vince Graham.
Ms Rajput have two Bachelors degrees in Medical and Education, Masters in English, Honor’s in System Management and have done couple of courses in Web Production and Management. Professionally I started her journey from IT Consultant to IT Teacher and finally as Train Driver.
