When we talk about Women freedom fighters we are extremely proud to say that they are 'Indian'. The sacrifice made by the Indian women will stand first as they took the step forward in fighting for our Independence. These Women came forward and took the struggle in their hands. ARUNA ASAF ALI , an Indian Independence Activist, born in the year 1909. This courageous freedom fighter was one of who fought bravely for our country. She was born at Kalka in a Brahmin Bramho family and educated as a teacher who worked at the Gokhale Memorial School in Calcutta. She later got married in the year , 1928 , when she married Asaf Ali, the leader of the Congress Party at Allahabad . There were oppositions against her marriage for he was a Muslim and she a Brahmo.Aruna comes from a family of different backgrounds, her father hailed from East Bengal and owned a restaurant while her mother was the daughter of a renowned Brahmo Leader who had written many beautiful Brahmo hymn...
